High award: Siemens is the best foreign partner of the Russian State Railways

Great honor for Siemens: In Moscow last week, the Russian State Railways (RZD) bestowed on the company their prestigious award for the best foreign partner of the year. With this coveted award, RZD recognizes the great commitment shown by Siemens within the framework of the high-speed project for the Velaro RUS supertrain.

Dietrich Möller (at right in the photo), President of Siemens in Russia, received the award from RZD President Vladimir Jakunin (at left). In his address, Mr. Möller expressed his thanks for the confidence placed in Siemens. In addition, he praised the RZD's readiness to build a strategic partnership between Siemens and the Russian State Railways.
Mr. Möller referred to the first passenger trip of the Velaro RUS between Moscow and St. Petersburg on December 18, 2009. This special event will be the next major milestone in the cooperation between the RZD and Siemens, he stressed.
