Achieving a Vision
Car to x is a vision that is internationally aligned in traffic telematics and has already led to a multitude of projects, technological developments and standardization projects. C2x merges the link between the two essential traffic technology components: the vehicles and the infrastructure systems. This link is usually implemented through wireless communication and data exchange in the combinations. A possible application with our system solutions is the transmission of signal states (remaining green or red times) directly into the vehicle.
Intermodal Traffic Management
To make optimum use of the capacities of the entire traffic infrastructure, in particular in fully utilized urban conurbations, the intermodal evaluation of the traffic system is increasingly gaining in importance.

Capacities, the current utilization of the traffic network, disturbances in private and public transportation form the information basis for intermodal traffic management. Available information regarding, for example, the current traffic situation, events, traffic disruptions, roadworks, and weather are all fed into an interface in the lighting control center of VIA-LUMEN. This permits optimal management of street lighting based on cost and safety considerations.
