To meet these challenges, Siemens has been providing mass transit solutions for North America for more than 20 years and is the nation's leading manufacturer of light rail vehicles. Two vehicle platforms are built at Siemens light rail manufacturing facility in Sacramento, CA: a high-floor vehicle (SD160 and SD460) and a low-floor vehicle (SD660 and S70). Siemens also supplied a self-propelled diesel light rail vehicle or diesel multiple unit (DMU) for commuter rail and has provided heavy rail vehicles for Boston and Puerto Rico.
