With the Sicas S7 system you are no longer constrained by a cardfile. The system bus can be expanded to include system components which are physically removed from the CPU. That means you don’t have to install an entire second cardfile system when you only need I/O.
Voltage drops over track leads and signal wires are no more a limiting factor. System components can also be distributed within or between racks as desired. Internal system communication can be implemented over traditional copper cable or via fiber optic (up to 5 miles). Distributing system components with a fiber bus allows for complete electrical isolation between system components. For internal system communications it is also possible to communicate over wireless LAN technology with no physical connection between system components.
