The Sicas S7 system is based on modern hardware. Analogous modules are approximately 1/3 the size of other wayside control platforms. There is no cardfile or motherboard - the modules are maintained completely from the front - and the system is wall-mountable. Because no rear access is necessary and the modern hardware takes up very little space, the space requirements in signalling rooms and bungalows is significantly reduced.

The Sicas S7 system is also modular and scalable. The system can be expanded or reduced based on sitespecific requirements. Two CPU sizes are available. I/O modules fit in the palm of your hand and can be added as necessary. The boards are also hotswappable – boards can be removed and replaced without disturbing wiring and without shutting down the system. The system also degrades gracefully – single point or board failures do not shut down the system.
