Siemens Mobility Rail Services manages the entire repair and return process for your parts, assemblies, and rail components. We ensure that your components are repaired or overhauled to the highest OEM quality standards including manufacturer warranty and are quickly ready for use again – always with the goal of minimizing your effort and costs and increasing your system’s availability. Upon request, we’ll provide a more in-depth inspection, a warranty extension, or an upgrade to state-of-the-art technology.

Repair rail components quickly, efficiently, and reliably

We manage the complete processing and handling of parts and repairs – from proposal to order, including identification of defective parts and technical resolution. To get parts back to you faster, we use the RMA (return material authorization) number, which makes it easy to track the repair order. With our inventory and refurbished part supply (UTEX: unit exchange) services, you can speed up the delivery time even more for the parts you need. For larger or more complex repairs, we offer our repair shop management service that provides individual repair and overhaul solutions: working in a close collaboration, we’ll find the best repair concept and a regional repair shop if possible.

RMA: Standard repair process

To avoid unnecessary shipping costs, we determine whether repairing your defective item is possible or economically viable before accepting it for repair. About 30% of all parts sent in are irreparable; if repair isn’t an option, we’ll offer a replacement part. The RMA number makes it easy for you to track the repair order at all times.

UTEX: Delivery of exchange parts

With Unit Exchange, we increase your rail spare part availability. When you send your defective part to Siemens Mobility Rail Services, you’ll receive an identical replacement part within two days (unconfigured) or four days (configured), so you don’t have to wait until your part is repaired. The refurbished spare part meets the same quality standards as a new one but is much more economical. Meanwhile, your defective part is repaired to new condition and goes into UTEX inventory.

RSM: Repair shop management

With our custom repair solutions for selected parts, you’ll benefit from a reliable partnership. After the problem analysis, we’ll find an alternative solution and a suitable Siemens Mobility repair shop for a fast and reliable repair according to OEM standards. You can count on a fixed lead time depending on the product and fixed prices, tests, and inspections just like you get with new parts. We currently offer more than 260 components from well-known manufacturers in more than 30 repair shops worldwide.
