Right from the start, auxiliary converters from Siemens Mobility were developed for use under harsh conditions such as very high and very low temperatures and rapid temperature changes. They have proven their worth in decades of efficient operation in all installation locations (underfloor, on the roof, in the vehicle).

Simple engineering, simple service
Thanks to their modular construction, the engineering and installation of our auxiliary converters are extremely simple. What's more, the systems for 750 V and 1,500 V for use in metros use the same housing and the systems are designed so that all the modules are easily accessible for service.
Higher performance and lower costs with silicon carbide
Using SiC semiconductors (silicon carbide) for the power electronics in combination with intelligent electronic design, the size and weight of our auxiliary converters have been drastically reduced. Thus, allowing an undeniable gain in terms of efficiency and performance. Furthermore, our modular block concept allows also a significant reduction regarding development time and costs.

Our claim: top quality and reliability
We achieve top quality and reliability through the use of state-of-the-art tools. At our own test facility and with realistic vehicle simulations, we test many functions even before testing them on the physical train. In this way, we enable trouble-free commissioning and shorten costly commissioning times. In addition to tests required by standards, our accredited software testing laboratory guarantees in advance an optimal interplay between software and hardware, thanks to additional tests at the system level. We go the extra mile to test more than standard.
