The Controlguide CTmobile system transmits freight car and train information in real time to dispatch centers, train operators and maintenance staff for efficient logistics and route planning. Through constant monitoring, CTmobile helps to prevent theft, damage and accidents while contributing to high-quality transport documentation. It records different status aspects – for example, humidity, and temperature or door opening statuses – of the car. And informs you as soon as an incident occurs. This increases efficiency, safety and transparency in freight transportation.

How does the cargo telematics system operate?

The CTsensor (mounted outside, preferably front side on top a freight car) transmits sensory data to the CTmobile telematics unit. The telematics unit records the GPS position and transmits it to the CTcentral server application along with the sensory data. Individual and aggregated status information can then be monitored and analyzed via secured web access or automatic e-mail or SMS alert.

An overview of key components and features

Geo-fencing

Configure terminals, yards or loading points for location-specific transport monitoring (geo-fencing). CTcentral subsequently provides near-instant information on departure and arrival at these locations or at a preset distance from them.

Customizable sensors

Depending on the vehicle type and the chosen CTsensor module: check the temperature, pressure and humidity levels as well as information on freight filling level and door status.

Adjustable parameters

You can set up CTmobile telematics boxes either individually or in groups. You can also define up to five daily positioning updates or cyclical status transmissions at least every 10 minutes.

Simple installation

All CTmobile on-board devices are self-sufficient and do not require any cabling

Multi-tenant web application

CTcentral lets you set up information access for different teams. The graphical user interface can be accessed via standard browsers and many mobile devices.

Shock detection

By default, every CTsensor module features an acceleration sensor capable of detecting blows to the freight car. Any acceleration exceeding a customizable threshold triggers a timestamped notification which can then be used to trace and document any potential damage.

Minimized downtimes

Avoid unnecessary car downtimes: Special sensor modules detect derailment or break-ins.

Retrofittable installation

CTmobile devices for every kind of freight car, regardless of its condition or age.

Future-proof software

Due to the possibility of remote firmware updates via GPRS, CTmobile devices are always ready for new challenges.
