The running gear of a rail vehicle is the central component for its safe operation. The bogie carries all the important components for propulsion and braking, determines derailment safety and ride behavior, and has a major influence on ride comfort. It represents the interface to the guideway and must therefore be able to cope with the constraints imposed by the guideway. How can we reduce maintenance costs and maintain safety levels through an intelligent running gear diagnostics system?
