In the "RailChain" project, a distributed juridical recorder was designed based on a real-time distributed consensus protocol and implemented as a distributed ledger on board the "Advanced TrainLab" of DB Systemtechnik was implemented. In addition to details on the architecture and consensus protocol, additional use cases are discussed here that go far beyond the vehicle and also record state information of field elements and system components thanks to EULYNX and RCA.
