Simulation of low-frequency oscillations between rail power supply systems and traction units
During the interaction of controlled synchronous-synchronous converters and modern electric traction units in three-phase drive technology, power oscillations in the low-frequency range can occur if both subsystems have similar natural frequencies and are insufficiently damped. For the investigation of these power oscillations, controlled models of a converter and a traction unit in the subtransient time range are brought together, which are embedded in an electrical network simulation and freely scalable.
