The complexity and traffic density in railway operations are constantly increasing, while expectations in the areas of efficiency, safety and punctuality remain high. It will only prove possible to keep pace with these developments, if the relevant processes are designed to be as lean as possible. This article shows how Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGBahn) has invested in TrackOps Depot, making it the first rail operator in Switzerland to use public cloud technologies in a safety-related area of railway infrastructure.
