DB Cargo awarded Siemens Mobility for a framework agreement for 400 dual mode locomotives. 100 locomotives are ordered with the signing of the contract, there is an option to order up to 300 more.

67 driverless metro trains for Riyad

  • The Arriyadh Development Authority commissioned Siemens Mobility with the delivery of 67 metro trains in October 2013

  • The 41 four-car and 26 two-car trains are for Line 1 (blue) and Line 2 (red) respectively of the new Riyadh Metro

  • Included in the order is the turnkey delivery of the automatic train control system, electrification systems, and other subsystems

Network expansion for a megacity

  • Siemens Mobility had already implemented a 21-kilometer rail network for Bangkok’s first subway line back in 2004

  • Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) and CH. Karnchang Public Company Limited are working with a consortium of Siemens Mobility and ST Electronics (Thailand) Limited to deliver rail technology for the extension of this “Blue Line”

  • The turnkey delivery includes 35 three-car metro trains, the signaling system, the traction power supply and complete equipment for depot and workshop. In addition, Siemens Mobility will perform maintenance services of the transit system

High availability despite ice and snow

  • It has specially adapted components and systems to cope with the harsh operating conditions in Russia and is backed up by a 30-year maintenance contract

  • Velaro RUS is made for climatic challenges, such as temperatures ranging from minus 40 °C to plus 40 °C

  • It allows 650 kilometers from Moscow to St. Petersburg in only 3.5 hours, ensuring 98% availability throughout the year

Turnkey extension of a metro line

  • In 2013, Siemens Mobility began extending a seven-kilometer section of the Gurgaon Cyber City metro line (total volume approximately 70 million euros)

  • The scope of supply included seven metro trains, the entire rail electrification, and the signaling system

  • The line went into service in 2017 and can carry more than 30,000 passengers per hour

A metro in the Caribbean

  • The city’s first metro line, Line 1, has 16 stops and extends for 15 kilometers. Line 2 consists of 14 stations spans 14 kilometers. Its extension, Line 2B, offers four stations on four kilometers

  • Siemens Mobility was responsible for the project management, system integration, rail electrification and automation of Line 1 and 2, including Line 2B

  • For Line 1 and 2 a three-year maintenance contract was concluded each

  • One of Europe‘s largest marshalling yards in terms of area 

  • Located next to Hamburg’s port facilities, the yard consists of two shunting directions and systems 

  • 88 classification track retarders, 12 lower and upper main retarders are in use
