More than just speed advice

C-DAS goes beyond speed optimisation. The system provides next stop car formation advice at braking points on approach to platforms to aid in aligning with the correct stop boards. A simple delay-reporting system lets drivers easily report the reasons when safely stopped. C-DAS also gives train operators a view of live train positions and speeds, to ensure operational excellence.

Seamless integration

Siemens Mobility’s C-DAS system comes ready to integrate with any of our existing 11,000 in-cab v4 GSM-R radios installed across the UK. All that’s required for installation on the train is to upgrade the existing GSM-R antenna with the Siemens Multi-Band Antenna (SMBA). The SMBA provides 4G LTE and GNSS/GPS connectivity in addition to GSM-R.

You also have the option to install the Siemens Graphical Driver Control Panel (GDCP) for enhanced visual display. Drivers can choose between audio advice over the cab radio loudspeakers, or visual advice through the display. The system makes it easy to generate end-of-run reports, giving you valuable insights on route adherence.

A tablet-based option

C-DAS is also available as a tablet-based solution, delivering the same real-time driving advice through a simple and intuitive interface. This offers operators greater flexibility in deployment while providing drivers with a clear, easy-to-use visual display.
