Our suppliers and their stories
We work with suppliers large and small all across the country forming long-lasting, trusted relationships to help Britain's rail industry thrive. Through building collaborative relationships, together we create jobs, invest in the British economy and develop skills.
Take a look at this film about Haigh Rail. They provide brilliant technical teams who go out on site in all weathers to prepare the way for our engineers to install our products.
Siemens Mobility has over 160 years’ experience in the UK rail industry. Our 3,500 employees enable people to connect with their friends, family and work all across the country.
In the UK, we work with around 3,000 suppliers, 47% of which are UK-based SMEs. In addition, about 90% of our spend is with UK-based suppliers, which supports around 56,000 UK jobs with a further 17,500 in our supply chain. We are ideally placed to provide expert advice in the transport and infrastructure sectors.
We have sites across the whole of the country, from the south coast of England to the north of Scotland. They include factories in Ashby, Chippenham and Poole which manufacture and test railway information and station management systems, railway signalling systems and train cab radio equipment for the UK and global export markets.
Our latest location - a new train manufacturing site in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire, will create up to 700 direct jobs, with a further 250 roles created during the construction phase and an additional 1,700 indirect supply chain opportunities. It is scheduled to open in Autumn 2023.
Our employees and supply chain are at the heart of our activities and together we help to shape the future of rail.
