Our Variable Rate Sanding (VRS) system utilises live train data such as speed, brake demand and adhesion conditions to automatically deliver the optimal rate of sand to achieve the best adhesion. Unlike traditional fixed rate sanding systems, our VRS system can vary its distribution rate depending on conditions, providing optimal traction capability, mitigating the risk of Signal Passed At Danger (SPADs) and reducing the number of wheel flats and cavities, therefore reducing maintenance costs.
