MoComp Pantographs
Competence center for developing and manufacturing pantographs
The competence center of Siemens Mobility Austria is one of the world’s largest sites for the development and production of pantographs. With our comprehensive test facility, we ensure that our pantographs meet the highest demands for quality, whether in heavy-duty freight transport or high-speed passenger service.
The right control unit for every area of application
The supply and control units for pneumatically operated pantographs guarantee the reliable operation of commuter and regional trains, locomotives, and high-speed trains. They work with a supply pressure of up to 12 bar and are designed for operating voltages of 24 V DC and 110 V DC. Precision air pressure control and a modular design make the supply and control units the first choice for reliable pantograph operation when it comes to options like manually activated emergency valves, pressure sensors, and safety valves.
Development capabilities and test facility
Siemens Mobility performs the entire development process – including design, construction, calculation, simulation, prototype building, and production – in Austria. The specially developed, hardware-in-the-loop test facility is unique in the world and makes it possible to emulate the interaction between the pantograph and simulated overhead contact line in real time. Dynamic tests of the overall system in the laboratory form a valuable link between simulations and test runs.
