Proudly manufacturing the next generation of trains for the UK

Investment with impact

Siemens Mobility has opened a brand-new train manufacturing plant and supply chain rail village in Goole, in East Yorkshire.

With an investment of up to £200 million in the Goole Rail Village and an additional investment of up to £40 million in a state-of-the-art Bogie Assembly and Service Centre, the site will bring up to 1,000 new jobs to the East Riding of Yorkshire, as well as around 1,700 supply chain job opportunities.

This impressive, world-class facility will be transformational to Goole and its people, providing a boost to the region’s economy and supporting hundreds of skilled jobs."

“This train manufacturing facility in Goole is a fantastic example of the expertise we don’t have and how investment in London benefits the whole country.

Practical Learning with Real-World Experience

We've been providing outstanding training and development opportunities to our apprentices since 2020. As part of our apprenticeship programme, we offer a combination of academic teaching and hands-on practise, including college-based learning and practical workplace activity in our newest Rolling Stock Manufacturing facility in Goole.

Our apprentices also have the chance to gain international experience by going on a visit at our rolling stock factory in Vienna, Austria. This unique opportunity enables them to learn from colleagues in a well-established, global manufacturing operation and bring back expert knowledge to our team.

We're proud to say that many of our previous apprentices have secured permanent roles within Siemens Mobility after completing their apprenticeships. They're transitioning from learners to workers, contributing to the assembly of our new Piccadilly line Trains.

Showcasing our local suppliers

Local suppliers supporting the construction include: C R Reynolds (enablement works), Clay 10 (site visuals) and Premier Modular (temporary offices).
