Signalling a fresh start

Bundaberg Rail Signalling Upgrade

  • Queensland Rail completed a $21.8 million project to upgrade the city of Bundaberg’s rail signalling system and seven level crossings

  • Replaced three signalling systems with one modern signalling interlocking system

  • Modern signalling interlocking system provided increase reliability, effectively facilitate safe train movements and easier to maintain

Gurgaon, India

Turnkey extension of a metro line

  • In 2013, Siemens Mobility began extending a seven-kilometer section of the Gurgaon Cyber City metro line (total volume approximately 70 million euros)

  • The scope of supply included seven metro trains, the entire rail electrification, and the signaling system

  • The line went into service in 2017 and can carry more than 30,000 passengers per hour
