These trends demand for seamless, sustainable, reliable, and secure transport solutions to ensure a high quality of life for 9.6 billion people by 2050. And those people will aspire for seamless transport from the first to the last mile.
Digitalization is helping us to master these trends and continuously transform the way we travel. Therefore, we are constantly innovating our portfolio in our core areas: rolling stock, rail automation and electrification, related services, and turnkey projects, to shape the future of mobility.
On July 2 2021, Siemens Mobility finalized its acquisition of RailTerm, expanding its existing portfolio with on-the-ground track and signaling, electrification and communication systems servicing expertise.
In Canada, Siemens Mobility has been providing solutions to the transportation industry for more than 40 years, including light rail vehicles in Edmonton and Calgary, trainsets that are being delivered to VIA Rail starting in 2021 and the rail electrification of the light rail systems in Kitchener-Waterloo. Our expanded footprint includes dispatching services operated from Dorval, Québec, to more than 25 railways across Canada covering over 3,400 miles of track.
Today, Siemens Mobility provides customers with full-service capabilities for the entire life cycle of their projects to help evolve our growing cities while supporting Canada’s sustainability goals.
